Coat to vest which makes no sense because it's 80 degrees now... don't hate!

Sometimes I get these ideas. I glanced over at a coat that needed a new zipper. I was determined not to let this coat go to waste. We got it free on Craigslist but that doesn't matter, I don't like to waste anything.

So I decided to cut off the sleeves.

And the zipper

I kept the hoodie and pinned the sleeves as cuffs

That then I sewed it all together

I know this is a pretty lame post but I wanted to share some of what I was doing.

Right now the weather is so beautiful that this little vest can't even be worn anymore. Maybe a new baby would like it. It's in great condition and it was such a simple idea. Cut and sew and repurpose. Anything is possible with a little imagination. All in all, this project literally took me 15 minutes. My son was incredibly happy that he could wear his coat again.

I'm thinking that in the fall I may need to make another adjustment and cut the hood off completely so that it won't look too short on him as he is growing like a little plant.

Speaking of plants...
I planted some seeds in the garden.
I began with my organic seeds and some coconut peet for starting the seedlings.

I threw them all into little coconut pete shells that are biodegradable and can go right into the yard as soon as they are done sprouting.

I also did a little bit of transplanting. I tend to over indulge on pyrex and sometimes I just use them for different things. In this case, I was never going to use these for anything, ever. I just bought them on a whim and decided I'd either need to get rid of them or keep them. Clearly, I chose to keep them.

So here is a glimpse into what I have been doing this spring. There will be more to come very soon. It's going to rain all week so I have no other choice!

Have a great day and be blessed!
